As we head into March...

As we head into March, we will be learning all about weather and spring. We will make suncatchers and rainbows, create a “tornado” in a bottle, race “clouds” using our own “wind”, fly kites and set up a homemade rain gauge outside on the playground. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t mind seeing the rain gauge measure on the low side this year!

Ms. Missy and I look forward to meeting with you in the classroom on Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13 for parent/teacher conferences. The preschool is closed for students on those two days. If you still need to sign up, please click here.

Looking ahead, the Blue Whales and Yellow Ducks will be going on our final field trip to Maple View Agricultural Education Center on Wednesday, May 1st from 9:30-12:00. This is a wonderful field trip where the students will participate in a 25 minute learning lab about insects, visit a small barnyard, go on a hayride, eat lunch and delicious Maple View ice cream and play on a small playground. Drop off and pick up will be at the Education Center. More details will follow, but we wanted to provide the date so you could mark your calendars. We hope you will be able to join us (adults can purchase ice cream too!)

On Thursday, we said goodbye to one of our Blue Whale friends. We are so grateful Anna Wright was part of our class family, even if it was only for a short time. Anna was a delightful addition to our class and we will all miss her very much.

Thanks you’s and reminders:

  • Thank you to Nao and her family for bringing in library books on weather and for providing fresh playdough for March.

  • Thanks in advance to Jocelyn, Ava and Levi L’s families for supplying snack this month. We now have 15 students.

  • Please make sure your child wears good walking shoes and has proper outerwear for the weather next Wednesday, March 6th. We will be walking over to the Scrogg's soccer field to fly kites.

  • Preschool will be closed March 25-29 for spring break.

  • A special thank you to Ms. Missy and Brian Crook for taking such good care of the Blue Whales on Tuesday. You are both the best!

Finally, I’ve updated the class photo album with pictures from February. Click here or on the Blue Whale home page photo album button to view them.

Have a wonderful weekend and we will see you on Monday.
