Hello Parents! Welcome to our blog. Every Friday I will be updating you on what we have been doing in class, and sharing some pictures from our week.
We had a great time getting to know each other during our small group visitations on Wednesday & Thursday of last week. Everyone was so excited to see ALL of their friends, new and old, when we came together on Tuesday & Wednesday. We started our week by reading “Our Class as a FAMILY,” and talked a lot about what makes us a school family. Most of you completed and sent in the All about Me page for your child, which went into our special book. Everyone loved sharing about themselves, and what makes them unique. We completed two art projects this week. We made “classroom family” bracelets, where each bead represented different positive character traits. Each class also helped to create their unique class mascot, the ladybug, where each spot was creatively made by them.
We explored the classroom centers, read other books, sang songs, and played. We began learning the classroom routines for entering the classroom, cleaning up, coming to circle, and walking in our line to the playground. We were happy to have nice weather to enjoy the playground! Please remember to put on sunscreen and/or bug spray in the morning before school! Our playground is very sunny.

During center time we used stickers and crayons to strengthen those fine motor skills in the art center. We also opened up the block center, dress up, and dramatic play centers. The block center, dress up, and dramatic play were VERY popular spots!
A couple of reminders:
Please label EVERYTHING, especially water bottles. When you arrive at school, water bottles go in the carriers on top of the cubbies, so that we can bring them into the classroom.
Please have your child wear shoes that will not slip off when they are running on the playground, preferably sneakers. The mulch does not feel good when it gets into shoes.
We will be adjusting our schedule somewhat to break up the center times into two sections, so circle time will begin promptly at 9am.
We had so much fun meeting everyone and seeing each precious personality begin to shine! We're looking forward to a wonderful year of fun and learning with your beautiful children. Thank you so much for the support you have shown us during this first week! We truly appreciate the donations we have received, small gifts, and all the kind words.
Have a wonderful weekend!
