It was so exciting to be back together again with the Blue Whales after our holiday break. We welcomed in the new year with fun decorations, karaoke and a disco ball. We have some amazing singers in our class.
We read some silly books and had to follow directions though our laughter. We also read some books focused on numbers and counting.
The play dough center was enhanced with smells of peppermint as we crushed candy canes in a mortar and pestle and in bags with mallets.
Sugar cubes and colored water helped our little scientists learn and investigate absorption, solubility and color mixing.
A fun magnet game strengthened our fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and introduced us to the concepts of magnetism and physics. This activity also gave the Blue Whales the opportunity to work on focus, critical thinking and patience.

We had Guess-n-Tell and Aidan did a great job with three clues about his item and calling on friends to guess the items. The Blue Whales were able to guess Aidan’s item because of his great clues. Everyone enjoyed having a turn with Aidan’s singing cactus. There were a lot of laughs.
