Important Dates
· Sunday, March 1st – Preschool Sunday at Christ Church at 8:40. Your children will sing some songs near the beginning of the 9:00 worship service and we will celebrate the CUMC Preschool Ministry.
· Wednesday, March 11th & Thursday, March 12th – Conferences - School is closed for spring conferences. These conferences are for adults only, so feel free to plan with a friend to watch each other’s children on the playground during your conferences.
· Monday, March 30th through Monday, April 6th – Spring Break
· Tuesday, April 21st – Planetarium Field Trip (Every child can have one chaperone join them and NO siblings are allowed on the field trip. We will provide more information in the next few weeks.)
· Wednesday, April 22nd – Blue Whales 100 Day Celebration – look for more information from me and Annie, our Room Parent, about this fun day.
· Wednesday, April 22nd - Casual music program in the fellowship hall. Shortly after drop-off, your child will sing a few songs with their class & Ms. Vicki for an audience of parents and special loved ones in Ascension Hall.
Quote of the Week
“I can help you count and find your number.” – One of our kind Blue Whale friends helping another friend who was looking a little frustrated trying to count the dots and find the corresponding number to sit on at circle time. Our Blue Whales truly care for each other and look out for each other.
The Blue Whales are enjoying our new morning routine in the classroom with their clipboards and visual schedule. It has been a nice start of the day.
Cora’s mom read one of her favorite books to the class to celebrate her half birthday. Cora treated her friends to delicious cookies and juice boxes.
The Blue Whales enjoyed our last half birthday celebration this week.
Our creativity shined through with drill painting at the easel, watercolors, glitter glue and pipe cleaner fun.
We gathered in small groups to work on literacy and math activities. It is a time to strengthen focus and continue to build relationships with each child.
And as a class we started our question of the day that focuses on the letters in our names. We are studying the letters through stories, sounds, movements and items that start with the letter. The Blue Whales are practicing identifying, writing and sounding out the letters.
We had Guess & Tell and Lydia did a great job with three clues about her item and calling on friends to guess the item. The Blue Whales were able to guess Lydia’s item because of her great clues.
The Blue Whales have had fun this week showing off their silly socks, favorite teams, and wacky hair and outfits. On Thursday we finished the week with a very successful Pancake & Pajama Day. The Blue Whales loved the pancakes, syrup and fruit and spending the day in their pajamas. Thank you to our families who donated items and volunteered, it is appreciated.
Hope to see those who are available at Preschool Sunday on Sunday, March 1st. Everyone will gather in the Disciple Room at 8:40 am before we enter the sanctuary to sing.
