WELCOME FALL

Many wonderful things have been happening in the green frog classroom these past few weeks. The tears at drop off are almost nonexistent, and when they do start, they only last a minute. We have learned to use our “ring rope” to keep us all together and safe whenever we leave the classroom. We have gone to music with Ms. Viki and enjoyed some new songs and movement. We are still getting use to sitting on a green dot for circle and story time. Most have learned their animal chairs to sit in at snack time. I guess what I really mean to say is that we all are settling into a good routine.

Our big muscles {gross motor skills} are getting a lot of use on the playground and our little ones {fine motor skills} are learning all about crayons, markers and paintstix, glue, glitter and all things artsy crafty. Some have enjoyed doing these things and others not so much. We encourage all to make something to bring home, but it doesn’t always happen, so don’t be too upset if your child doesn’t have art in their cubby, it just means they had better things they wanted to do that day, maybe next time. Also take a peek at our bulletin board It is an ever-changing seasonal group art project that the children love seeing their things displayed on.

So much is happening this month:

  1. Next week on Monday and Tuesday we will have practice fire drills.

  2. Ms. Melissa’s birthday is Thursday the 9th and we will celebrate her with a small treat on Wednesday and Thursday at snack time.

  3. On the 14th and 15th CCP has conferences. The frogs do not have in person conferences so look for the “milestones” sheet, that we talked about at orientation, to be in your child’s backpack. Remember the check marks only represent some things we have noticed thus far this year, and it is still very early in the year. If you have any questions or concerns, we would be happy to discuss them with you.

  4. On the 21st and 22nd we will have individual pictures done. Please see Ms. Shelly’s post for more details

  5. On the 29th and 30th we will have our costume parade. If your child will wear their costume to school, we will parade through ascension hall at ~9:15. Stay and watch but please refrain from drawing your child’s attention away from walking with the class otherwise we might have a mutiny to deal with. Send in clothes that we can put on afterwards to finish the day.

Please remember to look at the photos Ms. Melissa posts and you will see all the fun things we do when the children are here and don’t think anyone is looking.

I want to thank all of the children and parents for the beautiful cards and wonderful gifts to celebrate my birthday last week.

Thank you, Ms. Linda and Ms. Melissa
