We breezed through Halloween and are quickly approaching Thanksgiving. We are closed the week of Thanksgiving, 11/24 - 11/28, then fly right to Christmas.
Everyone seemed to enjoy jungle animals week. We built many fabulous jungle scenes with our jungle lego’s. We also talked about where all kinds of animals live.
Lately we have been talking about all things Thanksgiving, turkey and dressing, pumpkin pie and family gatherings. We have been doing the “turkey hop” in music and a lot of painting in class. We have started to practice the songs we will be singing in the Christmas concert on December 18. You should have received the words to the songs in case you have a spare moment to practice at home or in the car. Even though the concert is on a Thursday our Mon/Wed frogs are invited to join us in song. Anyone planning to attend please be in the classroom by 9:15 and adults can take a seat in the chapel. After the concert the children will be dismissed to you. If your child has a meltdown during the show they may want to join you and just watch. Please keep them with you till the end of the concert as it can be disruptive to the rest if one of their classmates is moving about. The concert should last about 1/2hour then afterwards you may take photos, give holiday wishes and say goodbye for the Christmas/New Year break.
For some, children included, this time of year can be a bit stressful. With the time changes, potty training, everyone busy, busy, busy and, and, and…….you might notice some behavior changes. We try to help the children navigate some big feelings and emotions they may have. If you notice anything you want us to pay special attention to please let us know.
Our Mon/Wed class welcomed a new friend named Rishi on Monday Nov. 17. Hopefully he will settle in and become a great green frog friend.
Reminders:
Be sure spare clothes are size and season appropriate.
Be sure everything has a name on it.
Please, please, please do not send in gloves. It is nearly impossible to get 10 fingers x 10 children into gloves before everyone falls apart before actually getting outside, mittens are much better!
Thank you,
Ms. Linda and Ms. Melissa
