Although the best laid plans of green frog teachers often go awry, not so much these last couple of weeks. Most of us have settled back into our routine very quickly.
Love week was a lot of fun. Everyone enjoyed our valentine exchange and it was wonderful to see those of you who could make it to our dance Friday evening. Dinosaurs are making their presence known in the classroom. This past week we made skeleton impressions, finger painted Dino’s, built Dino Lego worlds and read lots of stories about how dinosaurs make friends, eat, go to the doctor and say goodnight. We even stomp like Dino’s across the back parking lot on our way up from the big playground, ulterior motive, to not bring all the sand from the sandbox in. There was no school on Monday so we used that time to prepare for the upcoming parent/teacher conferences. The sign-up went out and almost everyone has chosen a time slot. Time slots are 15min and you should receive a reminder as it gets closer. We will meet in the nursery adjacent to the green frog classroom. Please remember that all classes are closed on these days but the playground is available to swap childcare with other parents during your time. We look forward to this time to talk about all the progress and address any concerns or questions you/we may have regarding your child moving forward.
The dinosaurs will continue visiting our class next week. We will be Dino marching while playing musical instruments, stix. The fossils will be replaced with footprints in the sand and we still have a lot of other stories to read. Wednesday 2/25 and Thursday 2/26 are pancake and pj’s days. Your child should wear their favorite pj’s to school and bring clothes to change into after we get treated to pancakes and fruit. There is no need to send in snack on those days but please remember a water bottle.
We have been practicing some songs in music that the children, who want to attend, will sing on “Preschool Sunday” 3/1. Anyone attending should meet at 8:45 in the classroom for the 9:00 service. See Shelly’s blog for further details.

We have several potty training frogs and everyone should check spare clothing for appropriate size, season and amounts [in case of accidents]
