A Little Help From my Friends

This week the Ladybugs have been talking about ways we can be helpful and show kindness. We started by brainstorming and came up with this great list:

We found lots of ways to work together, cooperatively, in our classroom and ways to show kindness. We created giant hearts to decorate for Valentine’s Day and helped each other put together puzzles. We made cards to give friends and loved ones and used beads to make friendship bracelets. We even cheered on the snails in the Snail Race game as we took turns moving the snails to get them to the finish line. We read Daniel Chooses to Be Kind. Daniel Tiger gets to be king for the day and learns that being helpful and kind is the most important royal duty!

We then talked about people in our community that help us. We had fun working and shopping in our grocery store, dressing up as community helpers, and building a town full of trucks driven by our community helpers. Our week ended with our first visit from one of our parent community helper volunteers!! Miss Erica (Jackson’s mom) came to teach us about her job as a physical therapist. She read us a story about her job, and then we practiced some exercises with her! Thank you for sharing with us Erica!

Next week we will be getting ready for Valentine’s Day!! Bring in your cards for your friends anytime. We will have the children deliver them to their friends’ “mailbags” on the 13th and 14th! Don’t Forget- Pancakes & Pajamas Days will be the 12th & 13th.

We hope you will join us for the CCP Valentine’s Dance on Friday, February 9th from 6:00-7:30!! It will be a fun night for all the classes, parents, and teachers to celebrate and socialize together ❤️

Have a wonderful weekend with your Ladybug!
