Dr. Seuss

We had some fun with this short week and celebrated all things Dr. Seuss!! We explored Oobleck (cornstarch & water mixture) and marveled at how it could be both solid when we pressed on it, but liquidy when we held it loosely. We let it ooze through our fingers and dug beads out of it, too. Fascinating!

We had show-and-tell with our silly socks! Everyone worked hard on some patterning, whether it was painting or cutting stripes for the Cat’s hat or building patterned towers with Duplos. We had some wacky fun coloring upside-down under the tables after we read Wacky Wednesday. And we practiced lots of rhyming with matching rhyme cards and a silly song called Willoughby Wallaby. We had fun rhyming each other’s names. 🤣

We’d like to thank all of the parents for taking time to meet with us to connect and discuss how your Ladybug’s year is going! They have grown so much in these 6 months.❤️ We really appreciate you sharing your insights from home with us, too. We try to support each child as a whole person, and their experiences outside of school affect how their day goes just as much as their interactions at school do.

You received an email from Miss Debbie today inviting our preschoolers to the church’s Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 24th. I’m sure that it will be lots of fun to see each other out on the Southern Village lawn! While you are preparing eggs to donate to the church hunt, please fill 6 eggs to donate to our own egg hunt!! Our class will be doing an Easter egg hunt during school on March 27th & 28th. We will hide the eggs that you bring and the children will all bring 6 eggs home in the “baskets” we make at school.

Reminder: School will be closed from March 29-April 5 for Spring Break.

Have a wonderful weekend with your little Ladybug!
