Quote of the Week
“You can play with my fragile toys if you come over for a play date.” - A kind Blue Whale inviting me for a play date and trusting that I would not break their fragile toys.
It’s hard to believe there are only 4 days left of school. Everyone has been working hard on some end of year projects in the classroom.
Wednesday was our last lunch bunch and we talked about the 5 food groups and all the Blue Whales sorted their snack and lunch to fit in to the food groups.
We had Guess & Tell and Aidan did a great job with three clues about his item and calling on friends to guess the item. The Blue Whales were not able to guess Aidan’s item but he had great clues.
Our four Circle Time Leaders this week did a wonderful job.
We celebrated Aidan’s actual 5th Birthday. Aidan’s mom and sister read his favorite book to the class. Aidan treated his friends to juice boxes and delicious cookies and donuts.
The Blue Whales ran off some energy on the Southern Village Green. We played sticker tag and Ms. Beth and I realized we are much slower than our Blue Whale friends and ended up covered in stickers. We all had a great time, and the Blue Whales didn’t even realize they were strengthening their fine motor skills by pulling all the stickers off the sheet to tag a friend and teacher.
On Thursday, May 21st we will have our End of Year Celebration on the last day of school. Our celebration will be from 9:15 am until 10:15 am and we will say goodbye to all our Blue Whale Friends at the end of the celebration and they will go home with their families. Please drop off your child in the classroom that morning as normal and Ms. Beth and I will bring the children to Ascension Hall at 9:15 am. Our party will continue outside on the playground after a short performance. We must be off the playground, and everything cleaned up by 10:15 am so the next class can have their celebration. Annie, our Room Parent, will be reaching out for volunteers for set up, clean up and donations of food, drink and decorations. Please let me know if you have any questions.
We are enjoying creating, moving, singing, discussing, observing, reading and playing with our Blue Whale friends. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.
