Just when you think we’ve put winter in the rear view and spring has arrived Mother Nature has something different in mind. Maybe, from all the ups and downs, this is where April Fools Day originated. I do believe we have made it past the drastic ups and downs in temps and now we can begin the fight with the dreaded yellow haze that consumes the next phase we call spring in the south. Other than the weather and allergies we have moved quickly through March into spring, a very busy time of the year.

After the departure of dinosaurs we began to focus on numbers and letters. Although we say our alphabet and count throughout the year we have turned our focus more towards recognition of the letters and counting the actual number of objects. I hope you all recognized one of our art projects as the coconut tree from “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom”.

Parent/teacher conferences week being a short one we made kites that are now hanging in our classroom. The kids worked very hard decorating them and love watching them flutter about when the door opens. Because all our green frogs are so wonderful conferences came and went very smoothly. We spent this past week talking about our pets. During circle time we had a couple friends share pictures of their pets. If you have a picture your child would like to share send it in with them, they usually love to show off their animal family and it sparks some wonderful conversation.

In closing we want to thank you with all our heart for the beautiful cards, thoughtful gifts, generosity and appreciation for us during CCP teacher appreciation week. We are very blessed to be part of such a kind and loving CCP family.
